Warcry Green stands at the opposite end of the green scale from the muted field tones. It is a saturated, clean and fairly cold green that players choose where the color is to work as the recognition mark of a unit: shield arms, banners, stripes on helmets or the armor of an elite unit. In the hand of a warband it works just as well as a signal area on science-fiction machinery.
Strong pigmentation means that the tone does not go gray even over a dark base and keeps its cleanness even where weaker paints sink into the base. A dried layer is smooth and matte, so a dark varnish into the grooves or local brightening can be applied over it without trouble. Anyone who wants to strengthen a bright shade further puts a light base beneath it.
The paint is dosed with a dropper, which with such a pronounced tone saves both material and palette. One drop on the tip is enough and the rest of the bottle stays closed and does not dry out. It gets into an airbrush after slight thinning with an acrylic thinner.
On larger projects it proves useful to prepare a transitional set right away: the clean tone for the area, a mixture with a darker green for the shadow and a mixture with white for the edges. Three cups are enough for a whole squad and the individual figures keep an identical pitch.
