AMMO of Mig Jimenez Acrylic Filter Orange is a liquid acrylic filter for toning the surfaces of a model. The contents need stirring before each use, because the pigment settles at the bottom.
Responsibility details are not available.
A filter shifts the overall tone of a painted surface without covering it. This one carries an orange shade, that is a markedly warm position with which an ocher, sand or rusty color can be warmed up and the effect of warm light on a surface suggested.
A filter is pigment dispersed in a liquid, and that pigment sinks to the bottom of the bottle while it stands. If you take it out without stirring, you will get either an almost clear liquid from the top or, the other way round, an oversaturated thick deposit from the bottom, and in both cases the result cannot be repeated. So: shake the bottle thoroughly, use a mixing ball if you have one, and stir again before each further coat, not just at the start of work. Managing the brush matters just as much. Wipe the filter you have picked up against the rim of the pot so that only a minimum stays on the brush; an overloaded brush makes a drop that dries with a dark edge. Always let the surface dry between coats: if you put a second pass into a wet one, the lower coat will lift and the surface will stay blotchy.
For modelers who want a repeatable result and do not want the tone of their second model to come out different from the first. Consistent stirring and careful management of the brush are habits that pay off across the whole weathering range.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated room, protect your eyes and skin and wash your hands after work. Close the bottle carefully after use so that the product does not thicken.
