A nozzle cap of 0.5 mm diameter as a spare part for airbrushes of the Advanced range.
Responsibility details are not available.
Half a millimeter is the diameter you reach for when the job has to be done quickly and evenly. Base coats, filler coats, thick acrylics and varnishes all pass through without seizing up and without having to be thinned to the consistency of water. The cap at this diameter works with a greater volume of air, so its shape has an even larger influence on the evenness of the spray than on fine assemblies.
The part serves as a replacement component for the whole Advanced range, not for a single airbrush model. For a user that means the switch between a fine and a coarse assembly is a matter of exchanging a few pieces, not of acquiring a second airbrush.
What harms a cap most is dried paint. If a filler coat is left to stiffen right on the edge, it then takes force to get off, and that is exactly when the deformation arises that finishes the part off. A rinse with solvent right after the work extends its life more than any later care.
A coarser assembly will take thicker paint, but it does not forgive careless mixing. At a larger diameter unmixed pigment shows up as a grainy surface, because more material passes into the spray pattern at once and there is nothing left to atomize the fault away.
