A plastic section in the shape of the letter L, that is an angle. Both legs measure 1.6 mm, the wall is 0.5 mm thick and one piece is 250 mm long, that is twenty-five centimeters. The package holds one section. It is a semi-finished product from which you cut exactly the pieces you need. Compared with flat material, the L shape has the advantage of holding a right angle by itself, so you do not have to assemble it laboriously from two strips.
The angle is the most common section in building structures. It serves as a reinforcement for frames and hatches, as a beam for walkways, cranes and truss structures, as a corner strip in a diorama interior or as a rack and shelves in a workshop scene. Besides building from scratch it also serves for repairs: a missing edging or a broken reinforcement is replaced with it faster than if you made the part from flat material. A longer piece also suits places where you need one straight edge along the whole length of a model without a join.
You can cut it with a fine-toothed saw, or score the section with a blade and snap it; then true the cut up with a sanding stick so that the joint seats. Glue it with a cement intended for plastics. The type of plastic does not follow from the designation, so test the joint on an offcut first; if the cement does not take, reach for super glue. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface and use a primer, otherwise the top coat holds badly on a smooth section.
The section alone is supplied. The model, glue and paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
