Šest. Pět z nich jsou krycí matné barvy, šestá je průsvitná zeleň určená na optiku a obrysové světlo.

Protože německé bojové prostory nebyly vymalované jednotně. Spodek zůstával v červenohnědé základovce, horní partie se natíraly světle kvůli lepší viditelnosti uvnitř.

V tenké vrstvě na lesklý podklad, nejlépe stříbrný nebo černý podle toho, jak silný odraz chcete. Několik slabých vrstev vypadá lépe než jedna hustá.

Základovka a světlá slonovina mají obdobu i u jiných armád, takže využití najdete i mimo německou techniku. Kombinace odstínů je ale poskládaná právě na ni.
