The heaviest numerical grade of the family with a wide washer, 1.2 mm. The size at which the choice of shade really starts to matter.
Responsibility details are not available.
With small hardware the choice of tone makes sense only from a certain size, and 1.2 mm is roughly that boundary. Below it the eye tells only lightness and gloss apart; above it it starts to perceive color as well, so it is worth thinking about whether the joint should look like steel, aluminum, black or golden.
The impression of color saturation falls with the size of the area, so a shade that looks bold in the jar comes out weak on a head the size of a pinhead. The remedy is usually to reach for a more saturated variant than the subject would call for, and only then pull it back to a credible position with a final flat or satin varnish.
The package consists of a head with a shank, a nut and a wide washer. The numerical series ends with this grade; the manufacturer lists further sizes under a separate group of codes.
It remains to add how the shade behaves over time. Metallic pigments tend to lose gloss and darken after several months, which does no harm with a factory standard look and often helps, whereas a golden tone is markedly impoverished by it. Anyone building the main effect on it should seal the surface with a gloss clear varnish.
