A 1.4 mm bolt head with flats around the circumference is large enough to form a visual detail in its own right. GAS HANS puts a round 100 pieces in the box, and the hole is drilled at 0.8 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
Here it is no longer a matter of surface texture but of an element the viewer registers individually. The flats for a wrench have legible edges, the crown of the head catches a highlight and in raking light it casts a distinct shadow. A hundred pieces in the box is a number that matches the fact that a joint like this is set one at a time in considered places. The difference from the smaller sizes is also that a mistake in position cannot be hidden: the head is visible and a piece set crooked is an eyesore.
In large scales such as 1:16 and 1:12 the head corresponds to a width of two to two and a half centimeters, that is to the usual fastening hardware on ship deck accessories, on steam engines, on motorcycle frames or on the armored bodies of radio-controlled models. Builders of dioramas with an industrial theme will reach for it as well.
In the box lie a hundred printed heads of a single diameter; smaller and larger sizes are offered by the brand as separate items, so they can be combined according to the thickness of individual plates. Anyone building in a large scale regularly usually acquires several neighboring sizes over time and uses them side by side according to what the real subject has. Paints and pigments are not supplied with this item.
