Carbon Finish with a fine weave — a self-adhesive carbon foil (Hasegawa)

A self-adhesive decorative foil from the Finish line of the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa, this time with a very fine pattern of carbon fabric. A fine weave is the key to a faithful scale: a coarse carbon pattern looks exaggerated on a model in 1:24 or 1:12 scale, whereas a fine structure corresponds to real fabric reduced to the size of a model. The foil is not applied with water — it is self-adhesive, and it is enough to cut it out and lay it on.

Use

• hoods, diffusers, spoilers and wings of racing cars and formula cars
• interior panels, seats and dashboards of sports cars
• fairings and exhaust covers of racing motorcycles
• clean and degrease the part, apply the foil in smaller pieces and smooth it from the center toward the edges, and trim the surplus with a sharp blade

Who it is for

The foil is intended for car modelers and builders of motorcycles who want carbon parts with a realistic structure instead of laborious spraying through a mesh. With one sheet you will finish a whole range of parts — but plan the layout in advance so that the direction of the pattern follows on between neighboring parts, just as it does on real carbon components.

This is not a waterslide decal but a self-adhesive foil. Always degrease the surface before application, otherwise the foil will not hold at the edges.
