Chibi-Maru Fleet Kirishima is a cute distorted kit of the Japanese battleship Kirishima from Fujimi — shortened proportions, a simple build and no conventional scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Chibi-Maru Fleet Kirishima from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi presents the battleship Kirishima in the playful distorted form of the Chibi-Maru line. This is not a conventional scale model — the hull is shortened while the turrets and the superstructures are exaggerated, so the finished ship comes across as a cute miniature of the real colossus. Thanks to its simple construction it is a quick build suitable even for novices.
Kirishima was one of the four ships of the Kongo class, originally built as battlecruisers and rebuilt between the wars into fast battleships. During the Second World War she escorted carrier strike groups and took part in a number of operations in the Pacific. Her service ended in November 1942 off Guadalcanal after a night gunnery engagement with American battleships.
Separate the parts with nippers and dry-fit the assembly before gluing. Use a thin cement for plastic and acrylics — a gray hull, a darker deck and small color accents on the funnel or the turrets. A fine wash will bring out the detail and a matte varnish will protect the model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
