The Chibimaru Fuso set from Artwox Model joins a wooden deck surface with a masking sheet and a photo-etched element for the grain of the planks. Intended for the Fujimi 422411 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory from Artwox Model accompanies a model from the so-called deformed range, in which the ship has a shortened hull and deliberately cute proportions. According to the designation it contains a wooden deck, a masking sheet and a photo-etched element for masking the grain of the planks. A size is not given for this range, because the hulls are deliberately shortened. The target kit is the Fujimi 422411.
Fuso was the first Japanese battleship designed entirely at home and became famous above all for her superstructure: successive rebuildings turned it into a tall, articulated mast that was nicknamed the pagoda for its appearance. She carried twelve 356 mm guns in six turrets. In October 1944 she sailed together with her sister vessel into the Surigao Strait, where torpedoes struck her in a night action and the ship sank with almost her whole crew. It was one of the last great gunnery encounters in history.
First think the order through: the color areas come first and only then the wood, so that the surface is not clogged. Separate the photo-etched element on a hard base and work with the masking sheet in the warm, where it adheres better. On simplified hulls the areas are small, so tweezers and a steady hand pay off.
