Phtalo green is a deep green tuned toward blue. It takes its name from the phthalocyanine pigment, which is used in paint making precisely for its depth and its extraordinary tinting strength: even a small amount shifts the shade it is mixed with noticeably. Compared with military greens it is a clean and brilliant color, so it suits places where a surface is meant to look new rather than worn.
The Cobra Motor line by AMMO of Mig Jimenez aims at vehicle models. With those, the smoothness of the surface decides above all: every unevenness, speck of dust or grain in the base shows far more in the unbroken surface of a body than on an intricate military model. It therefore pays to sand the surface carefully and spray a primer before the shade itself. A deep green also works well beyond vehicles, for instance on machinery, on diorama accessories or when mixing your own shades.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom of standing paint. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, and use a thinner meant for this line. Apply in thin coats and let each one set; one heavy coat floods the engraving and roughens the surface. The base has to be clean and degreased. Clean the airbrush and the brush with the agent recommended for this line.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, the primer, the model and the tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
