The cone tip sander consists of an applicator handle with a tapered tip and peel and stick abrasive pieces, which simply stick onto the tip and so form a conical sanding surface. The pieces can be taken off and replaced at any time and leave no glue residue behind. Grit 150 is the coarsest of the whole range: it is meant for quick material removal, not for final smoothing.

Use

• Removing sprue nubs and excess material where a file would damage the detail around it.
• Sanding inside tubular and conical shapes such as exhausts, barrels, intake openings and vents.
• Opening up and truing holes for pins, shafts and axles before gluing.
• Roughly leveling a larger build-up of filler, on which finer grits then follow.

Who the tools are for

For modelers who work with resin accessories and conversions, where there is considerably more in the way of casting block remains and filler than on injection-molded plastic. It also suits models of cars and equipment, where the inside of an exhaust outlet has to be cleaned up neatly. After grit 150 always go on to finer stages, otherwise visible scratches stay in the surface and paint will only emphasize them.

Do not breathe the dust when sanding resin and filler: ventilate, and use a respirator and eye protection if need be. The tip of the handle is pointed, so store it out of the reach of children.
