Copper wire with a black surface, 0.25 mm in diameter, a 5-meter spool, from AK interactive. This is a modeling material, not a kit — it is used to make your own wiring, tubing and small lines on a model. Copper is soft and easy to shape: the wire bends easily with fingers or tweezers, holds the shape you give it, can be twisted into bundles, and can be soldered if needed.
The advantage of the colored version is simple — the wire does not need to be painted. Most real wiring, hoses and lines are black, so the color is already the correct one straight out of the spool. That saves you twice over: no added thickness from a coat of paint on an already fine diameter, and no risk of the paint flaking off during bending or handling and revealing shiny metal underneath.
For modelers who want to add their own wiring where the kit does not provide it — filling out an engine, cockpit, landing gear or interior. A diameter of 0.25 mm is among the finest available: in large scales it serves as a thin wire, in smaller ones as a full-size cable. It also suits repairs and upgrades on models already under construction.
