The medium fineness of the engraving makes this sheet a rewarding base for the interiors of working buildings. A groove six tenths of a millimeter wide is deep enough for a wash to settle in and at the same time discreet enough that the finished surface does not look like a chessboard. The sheet is white, one millimeter thick and bonds to other plastic parts with ordinary polystyrene cement.
A workshop floor with an inspection pit suggests itself, or a garage with oil stains, or a hangar where strips of guide lines run between the tiles. It serves just as well for the floor of a repair shop, a cellar shelter or a warehouse, that is everywhere the surface has to take traffic and look the part. Anyone building a scene with a vehicle will appreciate that the tiles can be soiled deliberately only in the strips that get driven on.
The package holds one sheet. The material is white, so the resulting shade is set solely by the paint you choose and you do not have to allow for the base showing through. That is exactly what matters on floors, because several tones of dirt mix on them.
