A plastic kit of a display plinth from the Customize Scene Base range of the Japanese brand Bandai, in a standard with a water surface motif. It is a model of neither a robot nor a vehicle but a base under a finished model, which gives it a setting and turns a mere figure into a small tableau. The plinth is assembled from injection-molded parts just like an ordinary kit. The dimensions of the finished base and the number of parts are stated on the box.
Nip the parts off with nippers and clean the gate remnants up carefully, because the flat areas of the base are sensitive to burrs. The water surface motif gains a great deal from painting: bring out the relief with a darker shade in the recesses and a lighter touch on the tops of the waves, and use a gloss clear coat if you wish to give the water a wet look. If you are going to spray the base, apply thin coats so that the fine relief is not lost. Consider also lightly flattening the edges, so that the base does not compete with the model itself.
For collectors of robot and figure models who want to display their models with a setting, and for modelers who want to try working with a water surface without building a whole diorama. The model that will stand on the plinth is not included in the package.
The plinth is supplied unassembled and unpainted and contains no model. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
