Cuted Masking Tape Sheet (width 1mm)

A sheet of pre-cut Artwox Model masking tape - 1 mm wide

This product is not a model or an accessory for a model but consumable material for painting. The sheet of masking tape came from the factory already cut into parallel strips 1 mm wide, so you simply peel them off and use them. The one-millimeter width is probably the most universal of the whole range: the strip is narrow enough to be led around curves and small parts, and at the same time strong enough not to tear on removal and to be gripped comfortably with tweezers.

Use

• Setting out the boundaries of two-color and three-color camouflage with a hard transition.
• Outlining an area that is then filled in with wide tape or paper, the classic two-stage masking procedure.
• Masking frames, borders, the margins of hatches and the dividing seams between panels.
• Protecting edges already sprayed when adding a second shade.
• Holding loose masks, film or modeling putty in place during spraying.

How to work with the tape

Work in a dust-free room and with degreased hands; grease on the fingers transfers to the adhesive side and the tape then holds worse. Lay the strip on first and check the direction of the line, and only then press it down along its whole length. On curved areas do not pull the tape by force; rather lay it on in short sections and let it follow the shape, as tape under tension contracts in time and shifts the line. Apply the paint in several light passes with an airbrush, not in one heavy coat; a thick deposit creates a step at the edge that shows once the tape is off.
