Mineshima L-10 drill bit 1.6 mm is a single modeling drill bit for a hand chuck, for plastic and metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single drill bit from the Japanese brand Mineshima, one and six tenths of a millimeter in diameter. The L-10 line serves to fill out a hand chuck, that is, a pin vise, one diameter at a time. The manufacturer offers it in a range from two tenths of a millimeter to three and two tenths of a millimeter and states it for plastic and for metal.
A larger diameter means greater cutting resistance, so start with a thinner bit and only then widen the hole. You will spare yourself a slip and the edge will stay clean. In plastic, drill slowly and pull the chips out as you go, as accumulated material makes the hole wavy. On thin walls, support the part from below so that it does not break through at the moment of penetration, and finally even the hole out by turning the cutting edge or with a fine file.
For modelers who work with metal barrels, wires and pins, for builders of lit dioramas and for anyone filling out a hand chuck with individual diameters. At this size, holes for dowelled joints are commonly started, the kind meant to hold a model together even without a glued seam.
The tool has a sharp cutting edge. Store it out of the reach of children and protect your eyes from a flying fragment while drilling.
