A yellow dye for casting resins. It works with UV, epoxy and polyurethane systems, is dosed at no more than five percent by volume, and the bottle contains a thin dropper tube.

The difference is fundamental. An opaque paint lies on the surface, whereas this concentrated dye dissolves straight into the liquid resin and colors the whole casting through and through. The result therefore stays translucent and light passes through it, which shows most of all with a yellow tone: depending on the dose you get anything from a pale straw color through honey to a rich amber.
The manufacturer recommends not exceeding five percent by volume of the mix. In practice one or two drops are usually enough, because the concentrate is strongly saturated and a higher proportion impairs the curing of the casting. For accurate dosing a thin dropper tube is fitted in the bottle. The product is intended for resins cured by ultraviolet light, for two-part epoxies and for polyurethane systems. It is not compatible with acrylic products, however; there you have to reach for a different type of dye.
Yellow suits amber windows and headlights, honey or beer surfaces in miniature vessels, glowing crystals, lava cracks in combination with warmer tones, and transparent accessories on ship models. The individual shades in the same line can be mixed with each other to create your own tones that the line does not offer. Before casting, stir the dye into the resin slowly and without hurrying; vigorous stirring drives bubbles into the material which stay trapped inside the casting once it has cured and spoil the transparency.
