EARTH BROWN – ARTISTIC DENSE ACRYLIC COLOR

EARTH BROWN, ARTISTIC DENSE ACRYLIC COLOR

A muted earthy brown from the line of dense acrylic paints intended for modelers. AK Interactive fills it into metal tubes holding 20 ml. The shade is built on very fine pigments at high concentration, so it keeps full coverage even in a thin film and dries matte. With brown tones that matters, because gloss on leather and wood would immediately give away that it is a coat of paint and not the material itself.

Brown on leather, wood and soil

• Straps, belts, pouches, holsters and boots on figures of every period.
• Rifle stocks and butts and the wooden parts of equipment and of a diorama.
• Dried mud at the edges of a base and on the lower parts of trouser legs.
• A dark base from which the lighter earthy tones are built up by layering.

Recommended procedure

Apply a continuous base coat, let it set and only then build the highlights. On leather it pays to leave the tone in the recesses and lighten only the edges, which creates the impression of wear. The earthy brown also serves well for toning down shades that are too loud: a few drops mixed into a saturated color take the edge off it without pulling it toward gray. Always spread the paste out on a palette first so that the film is smooth and free of grain.

For which modelers

Intended for painters of figures, busts and dioramas who need a reliable earthy base. The line also serves in studio painting.

Do not leave within reach of children, ensure air exchange while painting and always close the tube.
