The P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the largest and heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War and became known for its toughness as well as for its ability to attack ground targets. The D-26 to D-28 production blocks are among the late versions with a bubble canopy, under which practically the whole cockpit is visible. All the more does it show on a finished model how well it is worked out.
The set offers a cockpit for 1:48 scale in the basic version, completed with color 3D parts for the instrument panel and the side consoles. It is worked out for the MiniArt kit. The exact number of parts and the extent to which it replaces the original parts of the kit is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene and cement for plastic kits does not work on them. Use cyanoacrylate glue, and epoxy on larger areas. Cut away any excess material and traces of production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the surface. Before painting, wash everything in lukewarm water with dish soap and let it dry. Finish and shade the cockpit before you close it up in the fuselage. Before applying the color 3D parts, check the instructions to see whether they are self-adhesive: the application method differs from one line to another and the instructions for the set state it.
For modelers who build the Thunderbolt with the canopy open and want an interior that matches the rest of the model without lengthy fine-tuning from their own sources.
