1:32 Persian Heavy Cavalry Warrior

Figures from the period of the Indian Wars, 1:35 scale

A figure set in 1:35 scale from a range devoted to the Indian Wars, carried under the designation Ambush Attack. It is built as a scene with a story, not as a set of unrelated characters.

The subject

The Indian Wars is the collective name for the clashes between the native inhabitants of North America and advancing settlement. For modeling it is a rewarding theme: two completely different sets of equipment stand against each other and the scene gets along without heavy vehicles, so the work with figures and with terrain comes into its own. An ambush also gives the figures movement that falls well into a composition.

What the set contains

Figures in 1:35 scale to be assembled and painted. The exact number of characters, their equipment and the extent of the accessories are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.

Building and painting tips

• Lay the figures out dry and look for the composition before you glue anything permanently.
• Cut the surplus material and the marks left by production off with a sharp blade and sand the surface, especially carefully on the hands and the face.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, and apply the primer thinly so that the relief of the clothing is not lost.
• Vary the shades between the characters; a group painted uniformly looks flat.
• Simple terrain does the scene good: packed earth, grass and dry dust on the boots and the trouser legs.

Who it is for

For a modeler who wants to build a smaller diorama with a story, and for collectors of historical figures for whom the usual military themes are becoming repetitive. The 1:35 scale is the most widespread for figures, so you can add characters from other sets.

Paints, glue and a diorama base are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
