1:35 Desert Battle Series. Buffalo Clan. To catch a Thief-2

A desert scene with four figures and a buggy, 1:35 scale

A figure set in 1:35 from the line of desert battle subjects. According to the name it contains four figures and one buggy and it is the second part of the subject listed under the title To Catch a Thief.

What the set contains

Four figures and one light open off-road vehicle in 1:35. The set is built as a whole: the figures and the vehicle belong together and add up to a scene, not just a collection of separate figures. The exact number of parts, the range of equipment and the building sequence are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.

Building and painting tips

• Stand the figures up dry and arrange them around the vehicle before you glue anything permanently; a composition is harder to find once the glue has set.
• Cut the surplus material and the traces of manufacture off carefully with a sharp blade and sand the area, above all on the hands and the face.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting and apply a thin primer, or the fine relief of the cloth and the equipment will be lost.
• Vary the shades of clothing slightly between the figures, as a group painted all alike looks flat.
• A desert scene gains a great deal from dry pastel or light dust on the boots, the trouser legs and the underside of the vehicle.

Who it is for

For the modeler who wants to build a small scene with a story and does not want to put the figures together from several sets. It also serves as a source of separate figures for other equipment in 1:35. Experience with figures helps, but the set is clear and manageable even for someone building them for the first time.

Paints, glue and a diorama base are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
