The real subject

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G is among the most numerous fighter aircraft of the Second World War. The G-5 form differed from the widely built G-6 mainly in its pressurized cabin, which made the crew's work at high altitude easier. Above the engine it carried two 13 mm heavy machine guns, whose bulky breeches called for conspicuous covers on the upper side of the nose; the cowling was filled by the liquid-cooled inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 605.

Building tips

Finish the cockpit before you glue the fuselage halves together; once they are joined you cannot get inside. Try the parts dry first and rather modify the mating surfaces in the kit carefully than force a finished assembly into place. Do not overspray the color-finished surfaces and do not touch them with greasy fingers; apply glue to them in minute amounts and as far from the visible side as possible. The suitable glue and the procedure for the individual parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
