Grass Dark Green Foliage 200ml

What it is

Grass foliage is a loose growth material with which greenery is established in a scene. The package holds 200 milliliters in a dark green shade. The dark tone corresponds to growth in shade, to damp places by water, to the depth between bushes and to north-facing slopes the sun does not reach. In itself it represents nothing in particular; only once it is applied into glue does it form an area with an irregular edge that passes into the surrounding terrain.

Where it is useful

• shaded areas under trees and between bushes
• the banks of watercourses and damp hollows in the terrain
• overgrown ditches, field margins and the edges of field tracks
• a bottom layer of growth under paler green

How it is applied

First coat the terrain with glue, most often white PVA thinned with water, and apply the material to it while the glue is still damp. Sprinkle from a height of a few centimeters through a sieve or between your fingers, so that it lands unevenly; a heap sprinkled onto one spot always shows on a finished scene. Let it dry thoroughly, then tilt the base and tap the material that has not caught onto paper, where it can be collected and used again. Greenery looks best in layers, so let the surface show through in places and add paler shades only on sunlit places.
