Twenty-three machines are gathered by the sheet 1:48 F-35A Anthology Part VIII, the newest continuation of the decal series from Furball Aero-Design.
Responsibility details are not available.
The latest continuation of this decal series so far plays on numbers: it offers twenty-three marking options and, with them, enough lettering and technical markings for four fully finished aircraft. The whole sheet is devoted to the land-based A version.
Dutch machines have the strongest showing, among them aircraft with the fuselage numbers F-014, F-023 and F-043. A Belgian aircraft with the code FL003 has been added, which is new because Belgium is only now taking delivery of its first machines. The sheet also covers Polish, Italian, Israeli and Japanese aircraft and several American machines from various wings.
While the earlier continuation also gave room to Scandinavian newcomers, this one concentrates on Central European and Benelux users and offers Polish markings for the first time. For a modeler building a European line it is the most direct way to put a less common nationality on a model.
Low-observable finishes have a fine difference in shade between panels, which decals easily overpower. Work in small sections, wipe the adhesive residue off with a damp cloth after every step and let everything dry thoroughly before reaching for the next marking. Choose a semi-gloss rather than a fully matte clear coat to even things out, because a completely matte surface does not suit these aircraft.
Only the decal sheet is enclosed. Choose a plastic model to go with it as you see fit.
