Responsibility details are not available.
The universal bomb rack was a simple carrier in the Royal Air Force on which smaller bombs were hung. Its strength lay in suiting various machines and various loads, so you will come across it even where few would expect: on machines intended above all for cooperation with the ground forces. The Westland Lysander was one of them. Besides reconnaissance and liaison it could also carry light bombs, and that on short stub wings attached to the wheel spats.
The set contains four racks in 1:48 scale and is cut for the Westland Lysander Mk.I and Mk.III kits from Airfix. On a model of other origin, check the shape of the seating surface dry before gluing. The racks are a small but conspicuous element: under the wing they form a striking outline and give a finished model the busy look of a machine ready for a task.
The parts are produced by 3D printing, so thin print supports hold them. Snip these off a little away from the part, trim the remainder carefully and sand the pad; on thin arms work in small steps so that the part does not break. Before painting, wash and degrease the racks, so that no residue of printing resin is left on the surface. They are bonded with super glue; mark the seating place on the model in advance and check that the racks are leveled in the same plane. Apply the paint in thin layers and leave metallic rubbing and a wash for the edges and the attachments.
The set is for modelers who build the Lysander in 1:48 scale and want to show it in its armed form. Paints and glue are not part of this set, unless stated otherwise.
