A set for the UAZ-469 and GAZ-66 vehicles in the service of the Ukrainian border service, in 1:35 scale. According to the name these are decals complemented by photo-etched parts, that is a combination of a printed sheet and thin metal parts on a fret.
The UAZ-469 is a light cross-country car of Soviet origin with an open or canvas body, which served as a liaison and command vehicle. The GAZ-66 is a truck with drive to both axles and with the cab placed over the engine, which gives it a short front end and an unmistakable shape. Both types stayed in service long after the break-up of the Soviet Union and in Ukrainian service they could be met with in the new century as well.
Cut the decals out close to the printing, soak them for a few seconds in lukewarm water and slide them onto a glossy, smooth base, otherwise a milky haze will remain around the film. Press the water out with a cotton swab from the middle toward the edges and use a softener over the edges and the pressings. Finally varnish the model with a matte coat.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, true the rest of the tab up with a file and degrease the part before gluing. Metal is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, because cement for plastic has no effect on it. Make the bends over the edge of a steel ruler and preferably in two goes rather than breaking the part in half.
For builders of present-day vehicles and dioramas. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
