The second part of a range of figures of German tank crewmen of the years 1940 to 1943 in 1:35 scale. The package contains two figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
Between 1940 and 1943 the German tank crews went through the campaign in France, the fighting in North Africa and the first years of the war in the east. The crew belonged to a machine just as much as its armor did, and it is exactly figures that give a model of a tank a comprehensible scale and a story. The uniform of tank crewmen differed from that of the infantry by a short jacket with large lapels and a dark shade, and in tropical conditions by a lighter version.
The package is designated as the second part of a range on the theme of abandoning a vehicle and contains two figures in 1:35 scale. The figures are supplied unpainted and ordinary modeling equipment is needed to assemble them: a sharp scalpel, fine abrasive paper, filler and a glue suitable for the material.
It works well to assemble a figure dry first and to find a place for it on the base, and only then to glue and paint it. Faces are best painted separately, while there is free access to them. With a dark uniform it helps to start from a medium gray-blue tone and to add the lights in thin glazes; a purely black base swallows the detail. The transitions between colors are unified by an oil glaze that can be spread with an almost dry brush.
The set is intended for builders of dioramas and for everyone who wants to show a tank's crew alongside the model. Together with the neighboring parts of the range, a larger scene around one vehicle can be put together. The package contains only the figures. The model of the vehicle, paints, glue and accessories are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
