The third part of a range of figures of German tank crewmen of the years 1940 to 1943 in 1:35 scale, on the theme of abandoning a vehicle.

A tank crewman of the German army of the years 1940 to 1943 is a rewarding figure for any diorama with armored equipment. His kit differed conspicuously from that of the infantry: a short jacket with large lapels, a dark shade of cloth, with a beret or a field cap, and at the vehicle usually headphones with a throat microphone. In North Africa the crew had a lighter tropical version instead of the dark uniform, so the same figure can be treated in several color versions.
The package is designated as the third part of a range on the theme of abandoning a vehicle and represents a German tank crewman in 1:35 scale. The set is supplied unpainted, so after cleaning up it is ready straight away for a base coat.
With a single figure it pays to devote time to the face, because it is exactly that which decides the final impression. It works well to paint the head separately from the body and to join them only once finished. The uniform is best built from a medium tone up to the lights and shadows, because an evenly dark surface in 1:35 scale swallows all the detail. Finally a thin oil glaze unifies the surface and a light dry brush brings out the edges of the folds, the straps and the kit.
The figure suits building a scene at a tank where the human element is missing, and also as a piece of work in its own right for practicing painting a face and a uniform. It will fit in among the other sets of the same range. The package contains only the figure. The model of the vehicle, paints, glue and a base are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
