An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Me-163B Komet rocket fighter in 1:144 scale from the Czech manufacturer Brengun. What is special about the package is that it contains two complete models, so you can build a pair of machines or try the build out first. The parts are finely made for such a small scale, and a clear canopy and decals with color schemes are included.
The Me-163 Komet was the only rocket fighter to see operational service in the Second World War. It was powered by a Walter rocket engine burning a two-component propellant (the substances T-Stoff and C-Stoff), thanks to which the aircraft had an extraordinary rate of climb. It took off from a jettisonable dolly and landed on an extending skid. Because of the short duration of powered flight it was a weapon of very short range, used against formations of Allied bombers, above all with the unit JG 400.
On such a tiny model, work with small amounts of liquid cement for plastic and a sharp knife so that the fine parts do not suffer. Clean up the parting lines carefully. We recommend spraying a primer and only then applying the shades, best of all with an airbrush. Glue the clear canopy on last and protect it from fogging. Apply the small decals over a smooth gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
