The Russian airliner 1:144 Tupolev Tu-214 from Zvezda comes as a plastic kit for a collection of modern transport aircraft.

In this box the Russian maker Zvezda offers the narrow-body transport aircraft Tu-214, the long-range member of the Tu-204 family. The chosen scale is the most widespread one for transport aircraft, so the finished piece will fit into a display case among the other airliners without any jump in size.
The Tu-204 family came about in the late 1980s as a replacement for the older Tu-154, with two engines on pylons under the wing, with wingtip devices and with a modern flight deck. The Tu-214 version built at Kazan received a higher maximum takeoff weight and a greater fuel capacity, which lets it manage longer routes. Besides airlines, the type is also operated by state and special services, which have had it adapted for their own tasks.
The long fuselage goes together from several sections, so it is worth trying the fit dry first and only then joining them permanently. Weight in the nose will keep the model from sitting on its tail. The windows and the transitions between the sections are the places where patient sanding and polishing before the paint goes on pay off most, because glossy surfaces forgive nothing.
The set contains parts to be assembled, not a finished model; paints and glue are not included.
