A paved floor for a diorama in 1:16 scale. It serves as a base under a figure, a vehicle or a whole scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
A tiled floor gives a view a firm foundation and, above all, a scale: the eye judges the size of a figure or a vehicle precisely by the regular grid of joints that it knows from everyday life. In 1:16 scale, that is with large figures and sizable models of equipment, the paving is seen close up and the area must therefore be neither empty nor flat.
This is a tiled floor in 1:16 scale meant for dioramas. The format, the material and the piece count are stated on the packaging and in the instructions enclosed by the maker; the way it is divided and glued follows from them as well. It will find use in the interiors of workshops, garages, hangars and courtyards, that is everywhere a scene is meant to stand on a paved surface.
Lay the floor out dry on the base first and only then glue it; once the glue is applied the part is no longer maneuvered. Paint it before you stand the model on it. Real paving does not have a single shade, so after the base layer go over the individual tiles irregularly with several near shades. Bring the joints out with a dark glaze that you let run in, and wipe the surplus off. Then go lightly over the edges of the tiles with a dry brush in a lighter tone, so that they stand out. Finally add the traces of use in the places that are walked and driven over, and unify the surface with a matte varnish.
For builders of dioramas and display-case scenes in a large scale and for modelers who want to stand a figure or a model on something other than a bare base. A model, figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
