Empty 7.62 mm cartridge cases, 1:16 scale

A set of 25 turned metal cartridge cases that represent fired, that is empty, cases of the 7.62 mm M1919 Browning machine gun. The parts are made by machining from brass, so they have a regular shape, a clean mouth rim and the natural metallic sheen that a plastic molding does not reach. The manufacturer is the Polish brand MASTER, which specializes in turned accessories.

Use

• Filling the space under the ejection port and the collection bags of weapons in a large scale
• Cases scattered on the floor of the fighting compartment, on a deck or in the terrain of a diorama
• The contents of crates and boxes where only the top layer is visible
• A detail for figure scenes and display cases in 1:16 scale

Work tips

Degrease the parts with alcohol before painting. Brass looks best in its original sheen; it is enough to tone it with a dark wash so that the hollows stand out and the cases do not look new; alternatively reach for metallic shades and weathering products. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or epoxy, and with loose heaps it helps to flood them with thin PVA glue (white glue), which dries clear.
