The Miami Grand Prix has been run since 2022 on a temporary track built around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The circuit grew out of parking lots and access roads, it has fast straights as well as a slow technical section, and from the start it has been among the most visually striking events of the season. It is precisely its look that the print on this board carries over into modeling scale.
One piece arrives: an acrylic sheet three millimeters thick, with an area of 410 by 270 millimeters and a weight of 410 grams, printed over the whole of its upper side. It is not a semi-finished product. Cutting, filling and spraying are done away with, and all it needs is unpacking.
A reduction of 1:20 is the traditional scale of kits of cars in the premier single-seater formula, so the set aims precisely at this group of collectors. The surface is designed for a pair of machines, which makes it possible to stand two cars of one stable side by side, or conversely rivals from two different teams, and to show the difference in their liveries. For a single model the board is unnecessarily wide.
The 410 grams given is not a figure for shipping but a property of the product. A model of a car of the premier formula is usually over twenty centimeters long at this reduction and correspondingly heavy. If the surface underneath were light and thin, the whole thing would shift easily on a shelf. A thick acrylic sheet stays in place by itself and needs no backing or non-slip feet.
The single-seaters are not included, nor are mechanics, pit tires or advertising panels. The display board represents the surface of the scene and everyone builds the rest of the picture their own way.
