Quinta Studio A-4M Late Skyhawk Interior (1:32)

A colored 3D-printed interior set on decal paper for a model of the A-4M Skyhawk in its late form. Relief 3D printing with pre-printed colors brings the instrument panel, the side consoles and other cockpit parts to life without hand painting. The parts are applied as a wet decal. It is not an aircraft model but an interior accessory for a kit under construction. It is based on the dimensions of the Trumpeter kit.

The real subject

The A-4M Skyhawk was the ultimate attack version of the Skyhawk, intended for the US Marine Corps. It received a stronger engine, an enlarged dorsal hump with avionics and a modernized cockpit. Late aircraft differed in further equipment details, which a well-rendered interior captures nicely on a larger model.

Use

• Cut the part out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it off the backing.
• Settle the relief decal onto the part and press it gently with a soft cloth.
• Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as they attack the printed resin.
• Bring out the reflections of the instruments with a drop of gloss varnish once it is dry.
