Masks for spraying the British roundels onto a model of the de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth biplane from ICM in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth is a British two-seat training biplane on which whole generations of pilots went through their training. According to its name, the set of masks is shaped for the ICM kit in 1:32 scale.
Masks for the British roundels, that is, templates for spraying the circular national markings. A roundel is made up of concentric circles, so it is sprayed in layers and the individual masks follow on from one another. The result is a marking in paint rather than from a decal: it has no carrier film to shine on a matte finish, and under weathering it behaves the same way as the surrounding areas.
Apply the masks to a dried finish, that is, before spraying the marking itself. On a biplane, expect to be working on fabric with a pronounced rib structure; press the edges of the mask down along their whole length, so that paint does not creep along a raised edge. Spray several thin coats and always let the area flash off between the colors of the roundel. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off and pull it back over itself rather than straight up. At the end the area is gone over with a clear coat, which evens the sheen of the marking out with its surroundings.
The kit, paints, clear coats and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
