The Kawasaki Ki-45 Toryu (Allied code name Nick) was a Japanese two-seat twin-engine heavy fighter of the Second World War. It was used for escort, for attacks on ground targets and for night defense against Allied bombers; some aircraft carried obliquely angled armament for attacking from below. It was a robust and versatile type deployed on a number of fronts.
Because of the rich internal structure, plan the order of building and painting the interior and the engines in advance, before you close the covers. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and bond the clear parts with a product that will not fog them. Apply a primer before painting, spray with an airbrush and bring out the richly textured surface with washes and light weathering.
