A pair of 3D-printed MG 15 aircraft machine guns in 1:32 scale as a replacement for the defensive armament of Do 17, He 111 or Ju 88 models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MG 15 was a German 7.92 mm aircraft machine gun that served during the Second World War as flexible defensive armament on bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. The gunner aimed it by hand from his position, the rounds were fed from a drum magazine mounted on top, and the barrel was covered by a perforated cooling jacket that is clearly visible on a model in 1:32 scale. Among its carriers were the Do 17, He 111 and Ju 88.
Two MG 15 machine guns in 1:32 scale, printed by 3D printing. They serve as a replacement for the simplified weapons from a kit or as an accessory for open gun positions.
The printed parts are held on print supports. Cut these off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder away carefully with fine abrasive paper so the thin barrel is not broken. Wash any print resin residue off with lukewarm water and detergent and let the part degrease, otherwise paint will not hold on the surface. They are bonded with super glue; cement for polystyrene does not work here. Paint in thin coats over a primer; a dark steel color with a light dry brush along the edges of the cooling jacket looks convincing. Work over a tray and with tweezers, as a small broken-off piece is hard to find.
The set is for modelers of German bombers in the large scale who are bothered by the coarsely rendered weapons from the base kit. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
