This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero naval fighter in the large 1:32 scale from Hasegawa. The designation Model 52 (A6M5) is the baseline variant of the most widespread Zero series - unlike the later c sub-version, it is the original Type 52 with lighter armament. The model offers a detailed cockpit, a radial engine and a clear canopy.
The A6M Zero was the main carrier fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Model 52 (Type 52) came about as an answer to more powerful Allied fighters - it received reworked wings with a shorter span and rounded tips and individual exhaust stacks, which added a little thrust. The baseline version kept the lighter armament (a pair of 20 mm cannons and a pair of machine guns) and was built in large numbers.
Use thin liquid cement on the plastic joints. Fit out the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing. A primer and an airbrush are recommended; the typical dark green scheme with a lighter underside comes into its own with fine gradation of the shades. Apply the decals over a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
