Responsibility details are not available.
A large injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine Westland Whirlwind Mk.I fighter in 1:32 scale from Special Hobby. It is a completely new mold and the first model of this aircraft at all in the large 1:32 scale, richly detailed, with the cockpit glazing on a separate sprue and decal schemes for several machines. The exact contents of the package are not stated here.
The Westland Whirlwind was the first British single-seat twin-engine fighter with heavy cannon armament. It concentrated four 20 mm Hispano cannons in the nose and was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Peregrine V12 engines. It was fast especially at low altitude and was used as a fighter and as a fighter-bomber. Only just over a hundred were built, as further production was stopped by a shortage of Peregrine engines. It flew with No. 263 and No. 137 Squadrons of the Royal Air Force.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the mating faces of the large parts carefully. Paint the cockpit interior and bring it out before closing up the fuselage; mask the glazing and glue it with a cement for canopies so that the plastic does not cloud. The large scale will appreciate an airbrush and a primer. British machines carried a green and brown as well as a later gray and green camouflage; after a gloss varnish and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
