Replacement wheels for the AH-64 Apache in 1:35 scale, in the version designated as type 2, with the flattening of the tires under the weight of the machine modeled in.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American attack helicopter with fixed wheeled landing gear: the fuselage carries two main wheels and a smaller wheel sits under the tail boom. On a machine standing on the ground the tires are visibly compressed by their own weight, so the contact patch is flat and the sidewall of the tire bulges slightly. It is a small thing, but on a model the eye notices it sooner than many other details.
These are replacement wheels in 1:35 scale with the flattening modeled in, in the version designated as type 2. They replace the wheels from the kit and give the landing gear the impression of being loaded, without your having to sand or heat-form the tires yourself.
When gluing them on, turn the flattened area down toward the ground, otherwise the whole effect works the other way round. Try dry how the wheel seats on the landing gear leg and adjust the axle if necessary. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. Plastic cement may not work on these parts; super glue holds reliably. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting, shade the tire away from the rim and leave the finished surface rather matte.
The set suits anyone building an Apache standing on the ground, above all on a base or in a scene with the crew and ground equipment.
The set completes a kit, which it does not contain. Paints and glue are not in the package unless stated otherwise.
