Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set from the Czech manufacturer Firma49 in the diorama scale of 1:35. It contains castings of the British Mk III steel helmet, nicknamed the Turtle. It is not a kit but a separate accessory for dressing up figures and scenes - the helmets can be placed on the heads of figures or laid around a diorama as discarded gear. Working with resin assumes some basic experience.
The British Army introduced the Mk III helmet from the end of 1943. Its deeper shape, drawn out to the rear, protected the neck and the back of the head better than the older Mk II. British and Canadian soldiers wore it in larger numbers for the first time during the Normandy landings in 1944 and it stayed in use until the end of the war. The Turtle nickname arose from its likeness to a tortoise shell.
Wash the castings free of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and clean them up (with respiratory protection). Glue with cyanoacrylate. After priming, paint them in matte khaki to olive green; suggesting the netting or the cloth cover and a fine wash that brings out the rim and the shape add to the realism.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin castings. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
