An injection-molded plastic kit of the unique record-breaking boat Crusader K6, powered by a jet engine, in 1:35 scale from Mikromir. It is a new tooling capturing the slender, aerodynamically shaped hull built for attempts on the water speed record. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Crusader was a British record-breaking boat built for an attempt on the world water speed record. Instead of a conventional marine engine it used a jet powerplant, and its structure was closer to aviation practice than to an ordinary vessel. It is exactly that bold use of jet propulsion that makes it an exceptionally interesting subject for collectors.
The key is a smoothly worked hull: sand and fill the joints carefully so that the surface looks as if it were painted in one piece. A good primer base and gloss painting, possibly with polishing, suit it well. The model is best displayed on a stand, which emphasizes its slender lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
