Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French light tank Renault FT-17 in 1:35 scale from Meng. The model captures the compact hull with its tracked running gear, tail skid and rotating turret – the layout that became the pattern for modern tanks. It is an unassembled kit to be glued from plastic parts.
The Renault FT-17 is regarded as one of the first true tanks and as the pioneer of the modern layout: the crew compartment at the front, the engine at the rear and a fully rotating turret with the armament in the middle. This arrangement became the standard for later tanks. The FT-17 was used in large numbers at the close of the First World War, was built in variants with a machine gun and with a short cannon, and after the war served in many armies around the world.
First finish and paint the running gear and the inner faces, which are harder to reach once the tracks are together; the model also offers detail of the interior space, which is worth painting before the hull is closed up. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, apply a primer and spray the shades with an airbrush. On the broken surface with its rivets and armor plates, washes in the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects show to advantage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
