A loading ramp of German pattern in 1:35 scale from the T-Model brand will complete a railway transfer point in a diorama.

A loading ramp in 1:35 scale from the T-Model brand completes a railway scene with an element without which the transport of equipment cannot be done. A vehicle drives up the ramp onto a flatcar, and it is exactly this moment that tends to be a rewarding subject for dioramas. It is a standalone scenic object, not a model of a vehicle, so neither the equipment nor the wagon is in the package.
The T-Model brand has long devoted itself to German heavy flatcars in this scale, and the ramp follows on from their line logically. Ramps of this kind were built of masonry, of concrete and of a wooden structure and formed the head of a loading point, down which a tank drove at right angles to the axis of the track. Around them a natural space arises for figures, signals and the scattered equipment of a transfer point. The ramp moreover tends to be the highest point in a scene, so it determines the composition itself and leads the eye of the viewer.
Check the seating faces before gluing and stand the ramp up dry on the base, because with large objects a level stance matters more than the precision of the joints. A gray base is a universal starting point for concrete and stone masonry alike; a lighter dry brush draws the edges out and a dark wash picks the joints out. Wear from tracks on the edge of the run-up, moss at the foot and a deposit of mud then ground the object in the scene.
