A plastic kit of the American M3 Scout Car light armored vehicle in 1:35 scale. The open hull makes the model a rewarding subject for a diorama, because you can see into the vehicle and it can be filled with equipment and a crew.
The M3 Scout Car was a wheeled armored vehicle with drive to all four wheels and an open armored tub without a roof. It was not a combat machine for the front line: it served for reconnaissance, as a command and liaison vehicle, for carrying a squad and for towing light guns. The radiator at the front was protected by folding armored shutters, and on the nose the vehicle had a rotating roller which helped it over ditches and edges of terrain. The machine gun armament was worked by the crew from the hull.
A great many were built and a large part of them went to the Allies under the Lend-Lease program. A number of them thus reached the Eastern Front, where they became command cars above all.
For modelers of military equipment in 1:35 scale and for builders of dioramas. Thanks to the simple shape of the hull the build is easy to follow and even a less experienced modeler will manage it.
