An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M923 army truck in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The model reproduces the massive five-ton off-road truck with all-wheel drive and is a rewarding subject both for a display case of its own and as part of a military diorama. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The M923 is an American army truck of the five-ton class with 6x6 drive, which became one of the workhorses of armed forces supply from the 1980s. It belongs to the M939 family of vehicles and serves to carry crews and materiel to the front and in the rear. Thanks to all-wheel drive it has excellent mobility in difficult terrain, and the same chassis served as the basis for a whole range of derived versions. The M923 is a typical representative of modern military logistics, which modeling often forgets, although it is exactly the supply vehicles that give a diorama its credibility.
With vehicles that have an exposed chassis, assemble and paint the drivetrain and the frame before you set the cab and the bed in place. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and lay the paint on over primer, ideally with an airbrush. Choose between a single-color olive finish and a modern three-tone NATO camouflage. Build the weathering step by step: washes bring out the details of the cab and the bed, while pigments and mud effects on the large off-road tires and the chassis literally set the vehicle into the ground. The bed tarpaulin can also be made from shaped foil for a realistic look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
