Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The subject is the ASU-85 in the older configuration known as Mod.1956 - a light tracked self-propelled gun developed for the Soviet airborne troops. The box offers finely detailed plastic; this is a modern tooling with a good fit. It is worth keeping this early version apart from the later Mod.1970.
The ASU-85 was an armored, fully enclosed self-propelled gun with an 85 mm gun, designed so that it could be transported and deployed together with airborne units. It replaced the older open-topped ASU-57 and gave the paratroopers armored fire support and an anti-tank capability. The early Mod.1956 configuration lacks the later additions that mark the modernized form.
Assemble and fine-tune the running gear and the tracks before you close up the hull. Glue the plastic with a liquid cement for plastic models. After spraying the Soviet protective green, use a wash in the details and the rivets and apply pigments to the running gear for dust and mud. Pick out the edges and the walking surfaces lightly and use oil paints to create smooth transitions on the large surfaces.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
