An add-on detail set, not a model in its own right. The set holds replacement tracks cast in resin for the American Sherman medium tank with HVSS suspension in 1:35 scale, specifically tracks of the T-80 type. It replaces the tracks from the plastic kit and faithfully captures their profile.
Later Shermans received HVSS suspension with wider tracks, which improved the ride and lowered the ground pressure. T-80 type tracks with steel shoes are among the typical variants of these late Shermans. The wider running gear markedly changes the silhouette of the vehicle compared with the earlier VVSS suspension.
Wash the parts clean of mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Check that the HVSS variant matches the vehicle you are building. The metallic and muddy look of the tracks is fine-tuned with washes, pigments and a dry brush.
The set holds replacement tracks only. The base model, glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
