An injection-molded plastic kit of the small Soviet light armored car in 1:35 scale from new molds by LANMO Model. The kit offers a full interior, the driver's space, the fighting compartment and the engine, along with etched parts, decals for four options and hatches that can be built open or closed (the side doors, the engine cover and the observation hatch).
The BA-64 was a small Soviet light armored car of the Second World War period, built on the chassis of the GAZ-64/67 cross-country car. The BA-64B version received a wider wheel track for better stability. The car weighed around two and a half tons, had sloped armor resistant to small-arms fire and light armament in an open turret. It served for reconnaissance, liaison and the protection of columns; its small size and agility made it a useful helper, even though it did not belong in direct combat with tanks.
On a model with a full interior, deal with the inside and the engine first and paint them before you close the hull; leave at least one hatch open so that the work is visible. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and the small etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue, as the work is fine in the small scale of this car, so proceed patiently. Paint with an airbrush: a khaki base, lightening and, on some machines, winter white. For weathering use washes into the recesses and pigments, with dust and mud on the wheels and the wheel arches. The small car is ideal for a diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
